Position Overview

As our Texas and national programs expand, EcoRise seeks a professional to lead select Texas programs and provide support in multiple regions across the United States. The Program Manager will lead teacher outreach, support, and professional development in three or more high impact hubs in Texas, administer grant funds for student projects, conduct program evaluation, and organize regional Student Innovation Showcases. The Program Manager will report to the Program Director and must be based in Central Texas or San Antonio.

Responsibilities

  • Teacher Outreach and Engagement: Recruit K-12 teachers to participate in one of the following: Sustainable Intelligence Program, PBL Academy, LEED Prep curriculum, Biomimicry and Science curriculum, and/or The Business of Social Good curriculum.
  • Teacher Training and Support: Provide leading-edge professional development through customized, face-to-face trainings. Connect with teachers via email, phone, and in-person visits to support the implementation of EcoRise lessons and resources.
  • Award Student Innovation Funds: Support teachers in applying for Eco-Audit Grants, both virtually and in-person. Review applications, provide feedback, and fund student-designed sustainability projects.
  • Host Student Innovation Showcase: Organize and host regional Student Innovation Showcases where student teams present their work to their peers, community partners, and green professionals.
  • Engage Local Community Partners: Participate in and support community events relating to environmental education and sustainability to strengthen partnerships that increase the efficacy and impact of our collective mission.
  • Evaluate Program Impact: Monitor, measure, and evaluate program impact using pre- and post- surveys, focus groups, classroom visits, and rubrics for student projects.

Skills and Qualifications

Required:

  • 3 years teaching experience in a core content area or CTE classroom, K-12.
  • Experience implementing Problem-Based Learning.
  • Experience with instructional coaching, and designing and facilitating teacher professional development.
  • Fluency with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.
  • Must have a personal vehicle, be willing to travel an estimated 5-10 days per month, and work occasional nights and weekends.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-driven personality with effective project management skills; attentive to details with keen aptitude for organization.
  • Strong computer literacy skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps.

Preferred:

  • Proficiency with Salesforce and Canvas Learning Management System.

Timeline and Compensation

  • Full time position with start date in June 2019.
  • Salary range is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
  • Includes excellent benefits and flexible work schedule.
