Position Overview

• Novatus Energy is currently seeking an Asset Manager.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day and long-term commercial aspects of renewable energy facilities in Texas and the Southwest to ensure optimal project financial performance and maintain high asset values.
• Maximize project financial performance by managing risks, and seeking, evaluating, and executing on opportunities to improve project cash flow.
• Maintain compliance with financing, real estate, property tax, permit, and regulatory requirements.
• Interface with project lenders and tax equity partners.
• Serve as primary contact and coordinator for local stakeholder engagement and public relations, including landowners and local officials.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current ERCOT regulatory policies and industry trends that could affect projects within Asset Manager’s area; serve as an agency liaison.
• Coordinate with Accounting and Treasury to ensure project invoices and other payments are properly processed in a timely manner
• Coordinate with FP&A to ensure timely preparation of project budgets and reforecasts, and monthly operating reports with accurate explanations of variances to budget.
• Coordinate with Operations to understand and help resolve operational issues that affect financial performance
• Negotiate with project vendors and service suppliers to reduce cost and/or improve services.
• Support due diligence process on regional project acquisition opportunities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or Finance preferred. Experience may substitute for degree.
• Five (5) - Eight (8) years’ experience in energy market asset management, renewable power (wind, solar) experience strongly preferred.
• Thorough understanding of complex financing, operating, and real estate contractual arrangements.
• Proven track record of building and maintaining portfolios of energy assets, developing productive partnerships, and staying attuned to industry trends and developments.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Proficient with MS Office suite applications.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Keen multi-tasking capabilities and organizational skills; attention to detail.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
