Project Engineer

Additionally, Powin’s system is engineered for either indoor or outdoor installations and maximizes energy density while minimizing the system’s footprint.

Position Overview

Powin Energy is seeking a Project Engineer to join its project engineering team. The ideal project engineering candidate will be able to quickly attain a fluent understanding of Powin’s technology and product offerings. This role will work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders to define engineering requirements and project scope. Consequently, the Project Engineer needs to be an adaptable and flexible team player willing to assume responsibility for a variety of needs in fast-paced, variable environments. Lastly, the Project Engineer will assume a customer facing role and will serve as a system engineering and design point of contact for customers across multiple, concurrent projects.

Responsibilities

• Designs optimal battery energy storage system layouts, AC power, and DC collection and protection systems
• Establishes design standards and creates templates that lend to production of clear and concise engineering plans
• Collaborates with supply chain to procure cost effective and code compliant equipment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years experience or a Master’s in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years experience. An emphasis in power systems is a plus
• Significant experience with AutoCAD
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Excellent organizational, planning, presentation, troubleshooting, and multi-tasking skills
• Experience in renewables (e.g. solar, wind, energy storage) is a plus
• Experience at/with utilities or AHJs is a plus
• This role requires occasional travel to meet with project stakeholders or to project sites and may include overnight stays. International travel may be required
