Position Overview

LDG is offering the following full-time opportunity, for an Environmental Specialist. The Environmental Specialist will interact with clients, vendors, and staff to ensure project goals are met. This position also works as a member of a team to help identify and solve complex environmental issues.

Responsibilities

The Environmental Specialist will apply fundamental principles of environmental sciences to inspection, investigation, and monitoring activities. This position helps to ensure the success of clients & projects and closely interacts with clients and fellow team members to ensure total client satisfaction is obtained while meeting financial goals.

  • Continually evaluates work load to ensure appropriate staffing is supplied for each project.
  • Conducts habitat surveys for threatened and endangered species.
  • Ensures both client and in-house quality assurance & quality control processes are followed.
  • Gathers necessary data and recommends action plan to mitigate identified issues.
  • Completes wetland delineations for projects as needed.
  • Provides overall daily technical oversight and management to assigned projects.
  • Actively participates in client development activities as needed.
  • Prepares and submits environmental permitting for assigned projects.
  • Prepares project scopes and fees.
  • Completes environmental site assessments, ecological surveys, and functional analyses.
  • Conducts wetland monitoring and prepares wetland mitigation plans.
  • Coordinates with state and federal agencies as needed.
  • Prepares and/or reviews reports calculations, technical papers, and presentations.
  • Maintains professional certifications in fields of expertise as needed.

Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Biology, or related field of study; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: minimum 5 years job related experience.

Certifications and other Qualifications:

  • Wetland Professional in Training (WPIT) preferred, or Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) is strongly preferred, or ability & desire to obtain.
  • Occasional to frequent overnight stays. Local, extended distance, and overnight possibilities.
