Position Overview

CEO reports to 40-member board; 80 FT/45 PT staff, 100 seasonal; 1,000+ volunteers. Operating budget $13.5MM, supported by $125+MM endowment. CEO has overall strategic and operational responsibility for staff, programs and execution of its mission and financial objectives.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidate has proven track record of success as a key leader of a comparably-sized arboretum, botanical garden, natural history museum or other nonprofit organization focused on the natural world.
• Experience as a “#2” or other senior-level executive at a larger like organization.
• Bachelors required; advanced degree (MBA or PhD) strongly preferred.
