Campaign Organizer

Sometimes people ask, what’s an organizer? An organizer is someone you need when simply standing up for what’s right isn’t enough to make a difference. When you’re faced with resistance to change, and you need to get lots of people to join together to take the right action at the right time, that’s what Impact organizers do, for our environment, our democracy and our future.

So when PIRG wanted to protect public health by reducing the overuse of antibiotics in the food industry, they brought in the Impact team. We organized doctors, nurses, small farmers and consumers to call on Subway and other fast food chains to act. And we won: The big chains took action to reduce the use of antibiotics in their supply chains.

Position Overview

Impact organizers go to places that often decide whether a campaign will be won or lost. It could be a state that’s home to a swing-vote senator on critical legislation. It could be a city where a key decision is being made about clean energy.
