Position Overview
As our Director of Finance your primary responsibility will be to guide each financing application from initial document submission to receiving an approval or denial status. You will work with customers and our financing partners to ensure all parties are left with an outstanding impression of Iowa Wind and Solar. In addition, you will research and evaluate new partners to ensure IAWS maintains the competitive edge.
Responsibilities
- Work with customers/their accountants to obtain all necessary documentation for application submission and work with financing partners to securely share this documentation.
- Work with finance partners/customers to achieve the highest percentage of application approvals.
- Communicate and update customers on the status of their application.
- Communicate updates to sales person on the project while maintaining funding source confidentiality.
- Maintain an organized workflow that allows a clear indicator of the status of each customer financing application.
- Research and evaluate new partnerships to ensure IAWS is always on the forefront of the best financing products.
- Work with existing finance partners to strengthen the relationship.
- Assist with developing cash flow and financial analysis for solar projects.
- Assist with the finance portions of RFP responses.
- Identify additional resources needed to successfully complete responsibilities.
- Ensure strict confidentiality of our financing sources.
- Provide training to sales staff.
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in the finance industry. (Equipment finance preferred).
- Strong financial and tax background that ensures effective communication between partners and customers.
- Flexibility and excitement to work in an iterative start-up environment.
- Strong project and time management skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Problem solving and resourcefulness.
- Motivation to succeed in a results driven workplace.
- Knowledge of Google products (Drive and Gmail) and ease of learning new technology.
