Position Overview
Do you have a food safety or quality background? Are you interested in socially responsible seafood sourcing? Are you an independent contract seeking audit work? This may be the position for you.
SCS Global Services is recruiting Seafood Auditors on a part-time contract basis to visit audit sites at seafood processing plants, grocery stores, restaurants, and seafood distributor sites. Audits are for the SCS Seafood Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) Chain of Custody Program.
Qualifications
- Ideal auditors have a food safety and quality background and will be able to travel to audit sites throughout the United States however there is a large concentration of audits in and around Boston
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, economics, science or technical program with or comparable work experience of 5 year’s
- 2 - 5 years’ seafood experience in of any of the following: food industry; supply chain management; science; traceability; policy development
- Seafood food safety training
- ISO training certification or willingness to complete ISO training
- Ability to travel to the Southeast, Northwest, and Midwest as necessary
- Must be able to complete written reports in English
- Basic mathematical and accounting competency
- Ability to decipher complex standards and provide clear and concise guidance to clients
- Spanish is a plus
