The Market Outreach Specialist is responsible for account management of participating distributors for utility sponsored energy efficiency programs that focus on promoting sales and adoption of LED products. The ideal candidate will help develop an increased awareness in and adoption of two lighting programs with the goals of increasing sales and working with stakeholders to ensure that sales and energy savings are reported to the program. Additional responsibilities include strategic market development, customer satisfaction, as well as delivering on client goals related to outreach activity and energy savings. Stakeholders include lighting manufacturers & distributors, contractors of commercial lighting products and utility clients. The Market Outreach Specialist should have experience in sales, business development, and/or account management, preferably in lighting and/or energy efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit, train, educate and develop relationships with distributors, contractors and other Trade Allies to encourage effective marketing of programs.
- Develop outreach tactics to assist in recruiting customers and trade allies.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the business customer base.
- Integrate program offerings into customer operations to improve customer service and satisfaction.
- Perform event planning, coordination and presentations of programs.
- Work to serve as a liaison between customers and contractors to enhance program satisfaction
- Research’s the markets; accumulating data on businesses, and identifying the key allies to be targeted on behalf of the programs.
- Build a base of “registered” Trade Allies specific to the specified programs.
- Identify improvement barriers and critical information to the Program Manager.
- Ensure continuous improvement of operations.
- Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly activity reports and track progress towards program goals.
- On-site inspections of end – use customers to verify installation of eligible measures.
- Travel
Requirements:
- 3-5 years relative industry experience
- Sales and/or account management experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Lighting experience preferred
