Position Overview
Grand Canyon Conservancy seeks an experienced environmental educator from any discipline to live and work at Grand Canyon National Park’s South Rim for up to 8 weeks in 2026. The Environmental Educator in Residence will deliver engaging environmental programs to park visitors, staff, and community during their residency.
Proposed programs may include Grand Canyon’s geology, plants, wildlife, ecosystems, and/or other environmental factors with a focus on sustainability and personal impact. We’re interested in approaches that are dynamic, fun, inspiring, and accessible to a global audience of all ages.
The 2026 Environmental Educator in Residence will receive free accommodation through Grand Canyon Conservancy, a $650 weekly stipend, a $250 travel subsidy, and up to $300 in program supplies. In addition, we offer extensive marketing, access to the Museum Collections and NPS staff, help with booking backcountry trips, and staff support for programs.
The Environmental Educator Residency may be scheduled in one or multiple visits during August 1 – 25 and October 2 – 28 in 2026. (Note: Other dates may become available but cannot be guaranteed.)
