Director of Marketing

World Centric, a green social enterprise in Palo Alto, California, is looking for a Director of Marketing. World Centric sells certified compostable plant based food service disposables to replace petroleum based Styrofoam and plastic products.

Position Overview:

The candidate will develop and implement the overall marketing plan and needs to be extremely hands on with a strong ability to execute and carry tasks to completion. We are also looking for someone who is committed to environmental and social change and feels passionate about making a difference in the world.

Responsibilities:

• Develop strategy, objectives and implementation plan for overall marketing
• Define brand messaging, strategy and execution both for retail and foodservice channels.
• Create all PR/Media Outreach, campaigns and publicity
• Create copy and guide creative development for all collateral, packaging, advertising etc.
• Manage e-commerce marketing strategy and all digital collateral including website content, newsletters, advertising etc.
• Manage all marketing, visibility and planning for trade shows and sales events.
• Support sales teams with marketing research and industry trends.
• Plan and administer marketing budget

Qualifications:

• BS/BA in Marketing or related field with 5+ years marketing experience in food service, packaging, consumer packaged goods or plastics.
• Strong awareness of social and environmental issues
• Experience with social media, SEO, SEM and other web technologies to increase sales and brand awareness a big plus
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage projects from inception through execution
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work and flourish in an unstructured, fast paced startup environment

Compensation:

• Compensation dependent on experience. However, since we are a social enterprise, our salaries are lower then market salaries.
