WROAD is an international design and research practice based in Los Angeles with growing international recognition for their work in architecture and urban design. At WROAD we are interested in designing the process of architecture, rather then designing formal objects. Our design process emphasizes team-work, close collaboration with our engineering consultants and communication with our clients to develop innovative and unique design solutions that are environmentally sustainable as well as budget conscious.

WROAD and its principals are licensed architects in California, New York, The Netherlands and member of the AIA, as well as holding academic positions at the University of Southern California and Woodbury University in Los Angeles.

Position Overview:

For a project in the construction documentation phase, WROAD's office is looking for a Project Architect with conceptual design talent and extensive building experience. Candidates should have experience in leading and mentoring a team, and completing extremely high quality work. The Project Architect will collaborate with consultants and contractors to produce a construction documents and bidding package through intensive coordination work.

Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Architecture?
  • 2 years+ of proven experience in all phases of design process: conceptual, detail and design development?
  • 2 years+ of proven experience in construction documents, construction administration, site supervision?
  • Excellent AutoCAD and Adobe Suite skills?
  • Highly developed skills in team communications, contract documentation, project scheduling, team leadership, building design, technical detailing, consultant coordination, construction administration?
  • Knowledge of California building codes?
  • Track record of realized and / or published projects?
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Hands-on approach
  • Self-disciplined and confident in a complex environment?
  • Licensed Architect is preferred
  • LEED accreditation is preferred
  • Understanding of WROAD's work and the capability to execute its design intentions through the various stages to completion.
