Since 1976, Sun Light & Power has created innovative solar solutions for commercial and residential projects with both solar electric (PV) and Solar Thermal (hot water and pool heating) applications.  With one of the industry's best engineering departments, even the most complex projects are completed on time and on budget.

Position Overview: 

Prime requirements are a strong interest in green technology - making California less dependent on foreign oil, and a passion for building great client relationships. The ideal candidate will need to know how to conduct residential and commercial sales activities by identifying and developing prospects and leads, educating clients and the public, maximizing rebate and tax incentives, preparing and presenting contracts, closing deals, signing contracts, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Applicant must be a self starter and be collaborative with all parties throughout the full cycle of a sales contract. This position requires knowledge of analytical research methods, precise calculations, and the ability to ‘think outside the box". This fast paced solar company experiences continual change and the person needs to be able to think on their feet. Work may demand more than 40 hours a week on occasion.

Our office is located in a warehouse environment in Berkeley, California. Open to candidates outside of Bay Area, however, relocation is not part of the offer package.

Reports to: VP of Sales & Marketing
Status: Non Exempt w/ Commission

Qualifications:

  • College degree preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in Sales, preferably in solar sales
  • Knowledge of solar design of mechanical and electrical systems a plus
  • Ability to work in a team setting at Berkeley office with Sales Team and interface with cross function departments successfully
  • Excellent sales, customer service, and phone etiquette skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and quick trouble shooting skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task, work in fast pace environment under tight deadlines
  • Exhibit professional, pleasant, warm demeanor and appearance in all situations
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Salesforce.com

Compensation: Salary is based upon experience.  We provide a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, 401(k), PTO, holidays and tuition reimbursement.
