We, New Energy Finance, are the leading independent provider of information and research to investors navigating the world's transition to a low-carbon economy.

We provide a range of news, data and research services covering renewable energy, biofuels, energy efficiency, carbon capture & sequestration and the carbon markets.

With a research and editorial staff of over 130, headquartered in London and with offices spanning the globe, we serve a large proportion of the world's leading investment houses as well as service providers such as investment banking and lawyers, governments, NGOs, oil companies and major corporations.

We are looking to recruit an experienced sales professional to help grow our presence in the rapidly changing clean energy sector in the US.  

Position Overview:

We are seeking highly-motivated individuals to work as part of the Sales team to develop and execute innovative strategies for penetrating new accounts and expanding relationships in existing ones. 

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate and articulate the full range of services to new clients
  • Assist in the broader business development and marketing activities of the firm
  • Negotiate renewal subscriptions with existing clients
  • Help identify cross selling opportunities between teams
  • Actively contribute to and support positive team dynamics
  • Conclude and exceed target level of sales.

Progressively complex and expansive duties will be assigned to the successful candidate as he/she grows industry knowledge and demonstrates ability to execute against assigned revenue goals.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate is likely to have several years of commercial work experience in a relevant sector, such as research, strategy consulting, equity research or investment banking. We are looking for a high-energy and productive individual. The successful candidate must be a self-starter, have a high work-rate, be able to multi-task, and pay attention to detail. A flexible and personable approach is essential.

The ideal candidate for the role will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Knowledge of, interest, and expertise in at least 1 of the following:
    -the renewable energy and low-carbon technology sectors and markets
    -utilities, energy, transmission and power generation space
    -experience with buy side and other financial markets including public markets, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and project finance
    -Cap and trade systems and/or carbon markets
  • Proven track record of selling at least $1 to 2m per annum of research and consulting services.
  • Ability to coordinate own selling activity while simultaneously coaching a small but dynamic team of highly motivated sales associates.
  • Ability to interact well and engage with senior management at global institutions and coordinate activity at major accounts.
  • Very strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ambition to sell financial information or analytical services to North American organisations, and meet aggressive sales goals in a rapidly growing company.
  • Foreign language skills a distinct advantage.

Compensation: Base salary and commission based on experience level.
