Design Workshop is an award-winning, international firm practicing landscape architecture, land planning, urban design and tourism planning. We combine principles of smart growth, sustainable design and environmentally sound planning to reconcile economic needs with the preservation of scenic, cultural and community values.
Position Overview:
Professional with 8+ years of related experience. We are in search of a firm-wide resource to build and lead the pursuit of our environmental Legacy Design goals. This individual will develop and initiate practices to ensure that the highest environmental standards are upheld in each of the firm's projects and daily operations.
The successful candidate will be on track to be a Principal and must have the required attributes that this position of leadership requires. Such qualities include strong planning and design skills, the leadership ability to provide a role model in training and developing less-experienced staff and the ability to think strategically with a local, national and global environmental perspective.
The ideal candidate will have experience with the private, public and nonprofit sectors and a working knowledge of environmental planning, legislative process, inter-governmental relations and knowledge of NEPA regulations and requirements. This background should be supported with exceptional skills in written and verbal communication and personal organization. Requirements include a Masters' degree in environmental design, environmental sciences, environmental economics or a related field.
