STR Plans IPO for Next Month

STR Holdings Inc., a company that makes protective capsules for the circuitry in solar panels, is preparing for an initial public offering (IPO) on the New York Stock exchange.

The Connecticut-based company plans to sell 12.3 million shares for between $13 and $15 each, raising an estimated $172 million, according to a Reuters report. 

It will be the first U.S. solar IPO in 15 months, and the shares are expected to debut on the NYSE on November 6, under the ticker symbol "STRI."
