BrightSource Energy Seeking Partners in China, India

Solar thermal firm BrightSource Energy is looking for partners in China and India, Chief Executive John Woolard said on Tuesday at the Reuters Global Climate and Alternative Energy Summit in San Francisco.

He also acknowledged that the company is watching public markets and considering timing for an initial public offering.

Last month, BrightSource announced a partnership with Chevron (NYSE: CVX) to produce steam that will be used to increase production at an older oil field in California.

BrightSource also has contracts to supply up to 1,300 MW of power to both Southern California Edison (SCE) and Pacific Gas & Electric Co. (PG&E)(NYSE: PCG)
