SolarBridge Chooses Manufacturing Partner for Microinverters

SolarBridge Technologies, a developer of integrated microinverters for the solar industry, has chosen Celestica (NYSE: CLS) to manufacture its Pantheon microinverter.

SolarBridge and Celestica have been working together for more than a year, having completed design for manufacture (DFM), design for test (DFT) and qualification builds at Celestica’s Toronto.

SolarBridge is preparing for pilot production in Toronto, which will enable SolarBridge to participate in Ontario’s feed-in tariff (FIT) program, launched in May 2009. Volume manufacturing is planned for early 2011 at Celestica’s facility in Dongguan, China.

SolarBridge’s microinverter mounts directly onto solar modules, increasing system efficiency and reliability, while reducing the cost of solar installation. The Pantheon microinverter is designed to match the lifetime of solar modules, enabling module manufacturers to provide a 25-year warranty on their AC modules.

SolarBridge announced to significant development agreements last month with solar panel juggernauts SunPower Corp. (Nasdaq: SPWRA, SPWRB) and Kyocera Solar, Inc. (NYSE:KYO; 6971.T).
