Koch Brothers Behind Environment Killing Measures

SustainableBusiness.com News

By now you're probably familiar with Koch Industries, a major polluter that's involved with just about every kind of unsustainable industry - oil, gas, coal, chemicals, cattle, forestry, and synthetics.

They're behind much of the right wing organizing that won Republicans the majority across the states and in the House through extremely well-funded misinformation campaigns of such front organizations as Americans for Prosperity.

Hundreds of news stories have pointed to the Koch's as developing an enormous propoganda machine who's goal is to corrupt American politics to reward their pollution-based enterprise.

Eliminating unions has been widely reported as a key push for the Koch brothers and is behind Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker's notorious attempt to crush Wisconsin's public sector unions.

What has been less widely reported is that as soon as Walker entered office, he cut environmental regulations and appointed a Republican known for her disregard for environmental regulations to lead the Department of Natural Resources. Walker is opposed to clean energy job policies that might draw workers away from Koch-owned interests.

The Koch political poison has spread across the nation. Robocalls from Koch's Americans for Prosperity group flooded New Hampshire in support of a bill to repeal participation in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), which has cut greenhouse pollution and created 1,130 jobs as a result of energy efficiency benefits.

Americans for Prosperity climate deniers in New Jersey are trying to kill RGGI there as well. Koch's main man in Congress, Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-KS) was the one who inserted the  amendment to slash EPA funding in the House GOP's already wildly anti-environment budget. Koch's many subsidiaries have filed challenges against health and environmental rules from toxic chemical disclosure to dumping in streams.

IT IS TIME FOR US TO BOYCOTT KOCH BROTHERS PRODUCTS. WE SHOULD NOT GIVE THEM OUR MONEY AND LET THEM DESTROY US AND THE WORLD. THEY ARE ALREADY RICH AND POSSIBLY PAYING OR THREATENING POLITICIANS TO DO WHAT THEY WANT IN ORDER TO GET RICHER. IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE. WHEN WILL WE GET PEOPLE IN OFFICES THEY ACTUALLY WANT TO MAKE THINGS BETTER FOR THE LAND THEY LIVE ON AND THE PEOPLE THEY SERVE AND LIVE WITH. REMEMEBER "IN GOD WE TRUST".

Koch Brothers Buying Democracy? What do the Koch brothers own? The second largest privately held conglomerate in the United States? Yes. The Republican Governors’ Association? Yes. The Tea Party? Yes. The GOP? Yes. The Supreme Court? Quite possibly. What do the Koch brothers care about? Your job? No. Preserving the environment for your children and their children? No. Your health and well-being? No. Clean water, clean air, safe food? No. Education and infrastructure for your future, and the future of your children? No. So what do the Koch brothers care about? Making a profit for the Koch brothers. Why is the American media not exposing the agenda of the Koch brothers, and their ilk? Good question.

Why do you think the American media will not expose this? They have paid the media off also.

One can wonder: Is this just greed or do they want to hurt people for some pathological mental reason?

I think the Koch Brothers should be pitied. They have no understanding of human compassion. Most likely, their ownly frieds are each other. They would not be able to trust anyone else to be that close. The Koch Brothers are a sad pair, and when all this is over, the Koch Brothers will only have themselves, and what ever billions they have stolen from the American people. Pretty sad isn't it.

After the Koch Brothers' purchase of Governor Scott Walker....I thought I would try to start a boycott of their products, only to find out that they seem to own just about everything.....I've decided that it is time to kow-tow to them, pledge them my loyalty & feudal allegiance. All hail, the Colossus Koch!

"If there is no struggle there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom and yet depreciate agitation…want crops without plowing up the ground, they want rain without thunder and lightening. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters…. Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will." -Frederick Douglass, 1857

Look at my page Renewable Energy Sources and you will see a module that shows Koch Industries to be the major player in the destruction of our environment in 2010, there are facts listed there that back this article's premise. Koch has long been a major polluter and they are shameless concerning the problem.

"Feel sorry for them?" How about the millions suffering and starving because of their greediness and ruthlessness and inhumanity? Of course you can feel sorry for everyone? But that dismishes how much you pity those who really desrve it.

Stop up their plumbing; when enough plumbing-repair people stop being bought, mark 72 hours until they come begging the less fortunate to take them in.

This would explain (NJ Bigmouth Ralph Kramden) Governor Chris Christie promoting that he was for Clean air & Water, and then moved forward to cut these Budgets and certain ongoing projects Completely! SMH Lying in his Paid Advertisements saying he helped clean up... I worked for a NFP Org who had the task of informing local NJ Residents that he was Indeed not for the environment. SMH!
