Position Overview
We are seeking candidates for our Planned Giving Internship with Greenpeace in Fall 2014.
The Gift Planning team, part of the Development Department, is responsible for soliciting donors to put Greenpeace in their will or estate plans and to make other deferred gifts to provide for the long-term financial support of Greenpeace. We also steward the relationships with the group of people who have told us they have put Greenpeace in their estate plans or made a deferred gift and oversee the administration of current estate and deferred gifts.
Learn how the legal and financial fields play an important role in a key area of non-profit fundraising. There may also be opportunities to attend outside trainings on charitable gift planning.
Responsibilities
- Provide general administrative support
- Respond to donor inquires for information by mail, phone, and e-mail
- Research new estate gifts and liaise with attorneys and estate administrators
- Facilitate in-house mailings to donors
- Assisting in additional projects as needed
Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills
- Detail-oriented
- Good communications skills
- Computer proficiency
- Interest in non-profit fundraising or management
- Background in legal or financial field helpful
- Enthusiasm for protecting the environment
Requirements
- Applicants must be over 18, but do not have to be current students.
- We're looking for people with excellent verbal and written communications skills, strong online research skills, the ability to work well independently, commitment to non-violence as a means of affecting change and enthusiasm for protecting the environment.
Program Details
- Our fall internships start September 8th and end December 5th. Part time and full time positions available.
- We are flexible with your schedule and can help you receive class credit.
- All internships are unpaid.
- Unfortunately Greenpeace cannot provide travel or housing.
