Our Energy Network Operations Center (EnerNOC) supports these applications across thousands of C&I customer sites throughout the world. Using our C&I customers' energy usage flexibility, we make capacity, energy, ancillary services, and carbon products available to grid operators and our more than 100 utility customers on demand as a cost-effective alternative to traditional power generation, transmission, and distribution. 

Position Overview:

EnerNOC, a leading provider of demand response and energy efficiency solutions, has an immediate need for a Sales Operations Associate to join our world-class Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Sales organization in both our Boston, MA and San Francisco, CA offices.  The Sales Operations Associate will report to the Manager of Sales Operations and is responsible for supporting the sales and business development staff in its day-to-day operations.

The Sales Operations Associate will assist EnerNOC's sales and business development staff by providing hands-on sales support and analytical insights (approximately 85%) and by taking responsibility for administrative efforts (approximately 15%). On an ongoing basis, this individual should pursue opportunities to leverage technology and processes to improve upon these objectives.

The Sales Operations Associate position provides a unique opportunity for a highly talented individual to drive significant value at a leading Clean Tech firm with exposure to a wide variety of people and disciplines that can be a great launching pad for a career in sales, marketing or operations in the industry.

Responsibilities:

Sales Support & Analytics (Estimated: 85%):

  • Researching EnerNOC customers and prospects, performing quantitative and qualitative analysis of their energy data, and compiling the information in customer presentations;
  • Assisting the outside sales Business Development Managers (BDM) with proposal and contract generation;
  • Acting as a liaison between Sales and Legal regarding contracting issues;
  • Managing the approval process for assignment of major accounts and partnerships;
  • Coordinating the flow of data and documentation among internal teams and with EnerNOC's utility partners;
  • Compiling leading and lagging indicator forecasts and delivering consolidated reports to Regional Directors (RD), Regional Sales Managers (RSM), and Sales Operations;
  • Utilizing EnerNOC's CRM system to track sales activity and building/managing reports and dashboards to analyze and forecast sales performance and support decision-making (MS Excel, Salesforce.com);
  • Assisting RDs and RSMs with weekly team meeting agendas and follow-up issues;
  • Contacting customers and prospects to secure required documents and follow-up on sales meetings and calls;

Administrative (Estimated: 15%):

  • Managing conference calls and webinars using a variety of telecom and online technologies;
  • Managing logistics and flawless execution of training, conferences and social events;
  • Processing of all sales-related invoices in the company's software systems;
  • Managing the timely and efficient distribution of sales collateral and materials to a geographically distributed team using online systems and vendors;
  • Maintaining C&I Sales Team website on EnerNOC's Intranet;

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S./B.A. in a demanding discipline from a highly-rated program or institution;
  • A proactive, energetic, and customer-centric attitude and ability to quickly forge productive and collegial relationships at all levels of the organization;
  • Highly productive and efficient and ability to multi-task across a broad set of deadline-oriented tasks and with minimal supervision;
  • Strong quantitative aptitude;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Proficiency in productivity tools, specifically MS Office;
  • Manage confidential business and personnel information with a high degree of discretion;
  • Communicate in person, by telephone and email with senior internal and external executives with a high degree of professionalism;

Desired Qualifications:

  • Interest in the Clean Technology, Energy and/or Smart Grid industries;
  • Previous sales or fund-raising experience;
  • Experience with CRM systems, particularly Salesforce.com;
  • Experience with the energy industry and/or facilities and industrial environments;
  • Work, educational or internship experience in a consulting or business environment;
  • Work, educational or internship experience involving quantitative analysis;
  • Leadership experience in business, athletics, non-profit, academic or extracurricular environment;
