VegFund is a 501c3 non-profit organization that empowers vegan activists worldwide by funding and supporting outreach activities that inspire people to choose a vegan lifestyle.

Position Overview:

  • Executive leadership role with a young, fast-growing non-profit
  • Variety of responsibilities with focus on fundraising, marketing, organizational, legal and technology priorities
  • Telecommute position, with some travel to semi-annual strategic/board meetings, donor meetings, etc.

VegFund is offering a rewarding opportunity for an experienced, charismatic leader to manage day-today operations and to achieve strategic objectives. This is a newly created position; we have expanded to a size/scope where the addition of an Executive Director is key to further growth and effectiveness.

The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of senior management experience preferably in a non-profit setting with a focus on vegan advocacy.

Reports To: Board of Directors

Responsibilities:

  • Support and manage VegFund's employees and volunteers, create an environment conducive to high performance
  • Achieve set fundraising, organizational and operational objectives
  • Manage relations with Board of Directors as well as outside stakeholders including donors, advisers, vendors, grant recipients and public
  • Develop, oversee and administer all operational policies and procedures
  • Develop and carry out a comprehensive plan for funding diversification that includes fundraising, grant proposal writing, and foundation relations
  • Coordinate the annual budget and strategic plan development, and ensure targets are met
  • Maintain official records and documents, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Stay abreast of significant developments and trends pertinent to VegFund's mission
  • Handle all professional service arrangements (accounting, legal, etc)

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated commitment to vegan/farmed animal advocacy
  • Advanced degree, preferably in business administration, marketing, communications, psychology or related fields
  • At least 5 years of direct managerial (managing employees) and leadership experience, familiarity with key legal and regulatory needs of non-profits
  • Track record of developing and executing strategies that have measurably driven an organization's growth and performance
  • Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience; demonstrated ability to obtain new donors and grants
  • Highly effective and persuasive people skills; ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders without a face-to-face contact
  • Demonstrated creative thinking, problem solving, and ability to make optimal decisions with incomplete information
  • Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, comfortable navigating through a start-up culture.
  • Daily availability with reliable Internet and phone access
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, especially Microsoft Office, web/email, and common social media sites

Compensation: $40k-$60k, based on experience

Position Type: Full-time (50+ hours per week), primarily from home
