Position Overview:

The intern will participate in the development and tracking of a pilot program targeted at "innovators." The current design for the pilot program includes testing at least 3 distinct messages as well as additional engagement tactics to increase participation in the energy and water efficiency program. We are looking for a bright, independent thinker to add value and ideas to this exciting program!

The Intern will help develop program materials, set up tracking systems for program evaluation and assist in carrying out the pilot program. This internship is an ideal opportunity to study community-based social marketing techniques and individual behavior and decision-making related to energy and water efficiency.

Qualifications:

Effective team player who is able to prioritize and work independently with minimal supervision. In addition, the successful candidate will be able to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing, and have demonstrated skill in detail-oriented work. Must have knowledge and interest in behavior and decision making related to energy efficiency. The successful candidate must also demonstrate knowledge and interest in environmental issues, energy conservation programs and sustainability planning. Fluency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.

Open to students and non-students. Candidates must have completed or be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program related to urban planning, ecology, education, environmental studies, psychology or a closely related field.

Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. We are seeking a commitment of at least 15 hours per week for 3 to 6 months. Work hours are flexible, but most work will be completed between 8:30 - 5 p.m. weekdays. There will be opportunities to attend and participate in evening and/or weekend meetings.
