The Low Impact Development Center (LID), Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to research, development, and training for water resource and natural resource protection issues. Established in 1998, the Center has completed over 200 LID, Green Infrastructure, Green Highways Partnership, and sustainable development projects.
These projects have involved just about every facet of research, planning, design, construction, economic analysis, manuals of practice, policy, and training that is required to develop successful programs for sustainable planning and design that meets regulatory and resource requirements.
Position Overview:
We have a wide range of projects and this is an excellent opportunity for someone to learn and be involved in state-of-the-art research, planning, and design. Good writing skills and commitment to learning and teamwork are essential.
We currently have the following positions available in our Beltsville, Maryland, office:
Civil or Environmental Engineer:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented civil or environmental engineer. This is a mid-level position. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in either discipline and 4 to 5 years experience.
Civil or Environmental Engineer - PE:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented civil or environmental engineer with registration as Professional Engineer (PE) required. This is a senior-level position. The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in either discipline and 6 or more years experience.
Qualifications:
Civil or Environmental Engineer:
- Experience: Prefer 4-5 years in civil or environmental engineering. Environmental Site Design and modeling skills are required.
- Education: Master's degree preferred.
Civil or Environmental Engineer - PE:
- Experience: Prefer 6-8 years in civil or environmental engineering. Environmental Site Design and modeling skills are required.
- Education: Master's degree preferred.
