Position Overview:
Colby College and the Environmental Studies Program invite applications for a tenure-track position in International Environmental Policy at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin September 1, 2010.
Responsibilities:
Teaching responsibilities will include a senior capstone course in international environmental policy, intermediate-level courses in the candidate's area of specialty including a course in international environmental policy/law, and participation in the team-taught introductory ES course.
All courses will serve majors in the Environmental Studies Program, a strategic priority of the College. Courses appropriate for cross-listing with the International Studies Program or Department of Government are encouraged. An active research program and supervision of undergraduate research will be expected. An attractive start-up package is available. Familiarity with liberal arts colleges, teaching experience, and postdoctoral experience are desirable.
Qualifications:
Candidates should be broadly trained in environmental studies with expertise in international environmental policy. Applicants whose policy backgrounds include international environmental politics, environmental institutions, law, justice, or sustainability are encouraged to apply. Candidates should have a Ph.D. and a strong commitment to undergraduate education.
