Director of Wind Resources

Gamesa Energy USA, a dynamic leader in the development of wind farms is searching for a Director of Wind Resouces based in our Philadelphia office.

Responsibilities:

The Director of Wind Resources will be responsible for the following:

• Lead a team of Wind Resource engineers in 4 regional offices (Philadelphia, PA, Chicago, IL, Minneapolis, MN and Austin, TX) to ensure that the development team is receiving the necessary support in Wnd Resource engineering
• Assure that the company is receiving proper advice regarding all matters related to wind resources
• Manage the relationship with third party contractors

Qualifications: 

The Qualified Candidate will possess the following:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Meteorology or a related field
• 5-8 years of previous wind resource experience working for a wind energy company
• 2-3 years managing contractor relationships
• Experience in Project Management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Extensive knowledge regarding wind energy principles and wind turbine technology
• Ability to lead and work with cross functional/cross departmental teams
• Proficient in wind energy software including WAsP and WindPro
• Proficient in MS Office applications
