RESOLVE seeks on behalf of The National Wind Coordinating Committee a NWCC Senior Outreach Coordinator.

The National Wind Coordinating Committee (NWCC), a U.S. consensus-based collaborative formed in 1994, identifies issues that affect the use of wind power, establishes dialogue among key stakeholders, and catalyzes appropriate activities to support the development of environmentally, economically, and politically sustainable commercial markets for wind power. RESOLVE, a neutral, non-profit, environmental dispute resolution organization, provides a full range of facilitation services to the National Wind Coordinating Committee. To support the activities of the NWCC, RESOLVE seeks a Senior Outreach Coordinator responsible for project management and outreach for this collaborative.

Position Overview:

The NWCC Senior Outreach Coordinator will work with other NWCC staff and NWCC members to assist the NWCC with addressing issues associated with development of wind power.

Responsibilities:

This function will include at least the following:

  • assist in the management and facilitation of the activities of working groups involved with various issues such as transmission, siting and wind/wildlife interaction.
  • prepare or arrange for preparation of materials on key wind issues for NWCC members to pursue,
  • research and write materials on wind-related siting, transmission, and wildlife issues
  • manage the NWCC web site,
  • plan for regional forums and/or workshops where policy and technical issues related to development of wind energy are discussed,
  • field questions and information referral requests from interested parties,
  • maintain an awareness of wind energy activities,
  • travel in the U.S. to maintain contacts and identify new opportunities,
  • develop proposals, and
  • conduct administrative tasks associated with managing and tracking budgets, invoices, contracts, and subcontracts including producing monthly and annual activity reports.

Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in project management, stakeholder outreach, and organizing activities with parties representing a cross section of interests, as well as 3 years of experience working in a neutral and unbiased manner with parties who have different interests. 5 years work experience with environmental issues and an advanced degree or equivalent experience in public policy, renewable energy, and electricity policy, particularly markets and electric transmission issues.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, familiarity with managing budgets and sub-contracts, and strong spread sheet skills a must. An individual who is a strong team player, is a self starter, has entrepreneurial tendencies with an eye for identifying and building on opportunities, is accurate, consistent, is detail-oriented and meets deadlines is needed. Ideal applicants will have some experience and interest in either dispute resolution or renewable energy policy, more specifically wind power and transmission, and preferably both.
