Stonyfield Farm is the world's leading organic yogurt manufacturer based in Southern New Hampshire (commuting distance from Boston.) An early pioneer, Stonyfield Farm is nationally recognized for its leadership in socially and environmentally responsible business practices. The RenewUS Communications Manager will be based at Stonyfield Farm offices and report directly to the VP of Communications. This individual must be comfortable in the world of business and see industry as an essential part of the solution to climate change.
We are looking for a Communications Manager who is a highly organized, dynamic individual with background in environmental issues to oversee the day to day operations of RenewUS campaign, including but not limited to the following duties: manage all written and oral communication for RenewUS with project partners, and the public; oversee the RenewUS website; track,synthesize and report on scientific papers, breaking news, etc on climate change; be able to translate scientific concepts about climate change into clear messages for the general public.
The RenewUS Communications Manager must be able to create and manage a budget; attend meetings and conferences about the subject and represent the campaign in public as needed; and be able to work with myriad of groups including businesses, NGOs, academics, and teen/college communities.
Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years in public relations, communications or campaign-related initiatives. Must be able to move seamlessly between working independently and as part of a team. Highly desirable to have experience in new media. Superb research skills necessary, as are computer skills. Must be able to work well under deadline pressures. There will be some travel, weekend and evening work.
