Position Overview:
The Transportation Manager will direct and coordinate commuter transportation services and programs for a client in alignment with the client's goals, and in accordance with the standards and procedures of Jones Lang LaSalle. The Manager will join the Real Estate & Workplace team and also support environmental sustainability initiatives.
This position is based in, California for a Fortune 500 Silicon Valley technology firm. The position provides opportunities for career advancement in responsibility and scope in the areas of sustainability and workplace operations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee portfolio of employee commute programs nationally, including a LEED Gold campus. Programs currently include a fleet of shuttle buses and vanpools, carpool coordination, guaranteed ride home administration, parking management including electric vehicle charging system, bike-to-work infrastructure, and public transit incentives
- Innovate new approaches for increasing participation in employee commuter programs such as technology tools, social networks, communications messaging, and incentive systems
- Perform strategic analysis to improve and optimize overall system efficiency and service to passengers
- Recommend and support development of internal transportation policies, procedures and programs
- Implement processes for gathering participation data and analyze/report data for decision making (including carbon footprint impact)
- Provide excellent service and meet client's Key Performance Indicators
- Develop and manage budgets and cost management; oversee payment of vendors
- Oversee development of schedules and vehicle routing
- Ensure compliance with municipal and regulatory trip reduction requirements by issuing commuter surveys and reporting results
- Ensure vendors operate in compliance with all governing motor vehicle laws and regulations and operated in a safe manner
Customer and Stakeholder Relations
- Interface with internal stakeholders (including executive-level personnel) to understand, develop, and align goals
- Interface with external stakeholders (agencies, local governments, transportation management associations, etc) on regulatory compliance and policy development
- Lead superb internal customer relations, serving as the single point of contact for responding to commute transportation questions and feedback; oversee customer service and issue resolution, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans
Communications
- Communicate system and service changes to all stakeholders through communication channels including basic graphics layout (email, newsletter, intranet, signage)
- Conduct creative employee engagement events and campaigns to highlight commute programs and motivate participation (Earth Day, Bike to Work Day, etc.)
Vendor Management
- Oversee or support contract and pricing negotiation, analysis and compliance
- Develop vendor performance metrics and analysis
- Manage vendors, facilities staff and service providers as required to ensure excellent service delivery and cost efficiency
- Evaluate new vendor services as needed for improving service offerings, delivery excellence, and cost effectiveness
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree with experience in Communications, Marketing, Operations, Environmental Studies, Human Resources, or Project Management
- 3 + years in transportation program management or other corporate employee-services program
- Project management experience
- Excellent verbal/written communication & presentation skills
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Proven record managing a program employing versatile skills
- Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service and engagement of multiple stakeholders
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Advanced computer skills (Excel, Powerpoint, basic web page management, internal software tools)
