Position Overview

ESS seeks a Senior Water Resources Specialist with 7 to 15 years of technical experience assessing and managing freshwater resources to benefit the environment. Applicants with prior professional consulting and business development experience would be the ideal candidate.

This position will help ESS continue to grow our service offerings in the Water Resources market and requires demonstrated success in technical consulting, business development, and project management. The successful candidate will bring enthusiastic and positive personal energy and intensity to the team as well as the ability to energize others to achieve the mission of growing our Water Resources market services.

Experience

The following experience is required for this position:

  • Knowledge of stream ecology, biology, and/or geomorphology.
  • Knowledge/experience with field surveys and data collection procedures.
  • Experience in plan production or in guiding engineering staff in plan production.
  • Proven abilities to represent company at business development and professional sales and networking events to build brand and new customer business in this market area.

Other beneficial experience:

  • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling experience or the ability to interpret results from these models.
  • Stream restoration planning and design development.
  • Developing and implementing regulatory permitting strategies and coordinating regulatory reviews.
  • Developing new client and new incremental business opportunities.
  • Representing company at business development and professional sales and networking events.
  • Mentoring other professionals to advance their careers and better serve clients.

Qualifications

The position requires the following minimum education and skills:

  • MS Degree or Professional Engineer in related technical disciplines and proven subject matter expertise.
  • Professional training and certifications in areas of subject matter expertise.
  • 7 to 15 years of professional experience.
