Overview

World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world's leading conservation organizations, seeks a Senior Program Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring RFPs for funding under USG assistance awards
  • Conducting internal risk and ESSF review and assessment for new USG grants
  • Managing and administering grants, cooperative agreements, or other related instruments of the USG
  • Designing, developing, implementing, and interpreting grants/assistance management policies, procedures, and practices for Wildlife conservation opportunities.
  • Reviewing and evaluating adequacy, compliance of USG grants as per policies and procedures of the USG
  • Closely monitoring terms and conditions of grants/assistance awards to include costs, schedules, and oversight responsibilities
  • Preparing, processing, issuing, and tracking grants/assistance awards and compliance with reporting requirements of USG
  • Conducting program evaluation, including monitoring and assessing Sub grant performance, and establishing performance measures
  • Monitoring, assessing, and ensuring sub grant complies with all terms and conditions of award of both USG and WWF US.
  • Conducting resolution of audit findings or monitoring audit resolution in partnership with operations, Sub grantees and other relevant programs.
  • Conducting post-award reviews and analyses to identify management, financial, and administrative issues
  • Performing final review of completed sub grant awards, making appropriate adjustments or disallowances, and processing close-outs; and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements
  • Keeps abreast of recent developments in the USG environment, climate and grant opportunities.
  • Reviews publications, reports and public-facing material of projects.
  • Develops and manages complex partnerships and relationships. Works directly with field project personnel, consultants, and others to facilitate coordination, communication, and regular reporting.
  • Be able to represent WWF and Sub grantees in important forums.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is required. A minimum of 6 years of experience in the fields of USG Grants management – USAID, INL, USFWS. Strong and credible experience in USG and related grants management and administration, proposal development and AMELP experience.
  • An understanding of international conservation issues is preferred.
  • Technical proficiency with USG and other related project management tools and skills. Knowledge, of Miradi, TOC development, AMELP, CLA, PEA preferred.
  • Strong time management skills. Ability to work on initiatives with multiple and competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including experience working with high level staff and donors, as well as navigating multiple teams with competing priorities.
  • Excellent research and analytic skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Works well independently with limited supervision.
  • Fluent English; additional regional language skills a plus.
  • Energetic and passionate about conservation
