Your contribution!

Reporting to the Senor Director-Origination, the Senior Manager-Origination is responsible for marketing and business development for a portfolio of wind, solar, and energy storage assets across the Eastern US power markets while acting as brand ambassador for the company. Key markets include: PJM, NYISO and ISONE.

Your day-to-day!

  • Create marketing plans and execute sales strategies for each market where the company has a presence; 
  • Provide strategic guidance to developers utilizing market intelligence and customer feedback;
  • Lead customer facing initiatives to originate PPAs with IOUs, municipals, cooperatives, CCAs and Retail ESPs;
  • Build and maintain a database of key customers in Salesforce; 
  • Regularly call on key targets to market projects and record action items, schedule follow-ups, and highlight actionable intelligence to best position the company for future opportunities;
  • Take advantage of networking opportunities by attending industry conferences, association meetings, and customer visits;
  • Screen RFPs and work with developers to identify projects appropriate for customer's needs;
  • Lead the preparation of a compelling proposal based upon RFP requirements and customer feedback attained from previous interactions;
  • Negotiate physical and financial PPAs and guide transactions through the internal approval process by preparing investment memoranda and presentations to senior management and our Investment Committee;
  • Assist with gathering market intelligence through industry news sources, subscriptions, and professional networks and share with the development team;
  • Contribute to legislative and regulatory advocacy to promote and enhance company assets and development opportunities;
  • Monitor and analyze regulatory filings and manage participation in applicable regulatory proceedings, including advocating positions with industry associations;
  • Learn and stay current with creative and innovative offtake structures which reduce risk and maximize value where possible; 
  • Provide input to the Finance team regarding contracting structures and market pricing to facilitate compelling proposals to customers;
  • Support the M&A team by participating in acquisition processes including the diligence of offtake agreements and providing market analysis to the deal lead.

Your skills, our requirements!

  • Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in marketing and sales with an established network of utility scale buyers of renewable energy;         
  • BS degree in finance, economics, risk management, or engineering, MBA is preferred;
  • Successfully negotiated at least one PPA;       
  • Possess a solid understanding of relevant aspects of regulatory, resource planning, transmission, congestion, renewable portfolio standards and forward energy curves and how they impact both mid and long-term energy products;
  • Analytical, commercial minded, organized, collaborative, positive attitude, energetic, professional, confident, curious, disciplined;           
  • Able to demonstrate existing relationships with target customers;       
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;          
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize work to meet deadlines;         
  • Ability to remain flexible, anticipate issues and opportunities, solve problems effectively, and be a positive team member.

  • This position will be located remotely within Eastern US;
  • This position is a P4 level.
