Position Overview

The Regional Sales Manager manages a team of territory Account Executives and Merchandisers to ensure sales and gross profit targets are met. This role implements and supports corporate strategies and eEmbraces and promotes a performance-focused, high accountability sales culture. 

Responsibilities 

Position Scope: 

  • Supervises a sales team of direct reports within territory to include Account Executives and Merchandisers.
  • Manages the annual territory sales forecast, actual revenue and profit margins. 

Position Responsibility: 

  • Attracts, hires, develops, and retains top sales talent for assigned territory.
  • Helps on-board new team members to ensure solid business acumen and product knowledge foundation provided.
  • Manages, coaches, trains and mentors sales team for optimal performance within territory.
  • Defines clear objectives and expectations that motivate and create a positive, collaborative and accountable work environment.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert or advisor on selected customer sales and successfully handles issues escalated by team.
  • Develops territory/ individual goals and manages results to achieve maximum revenue while maintaining profitability.
  • Adapts to and supports organizational change.
  • Coordinates and maintains effective working relationships with all departments.
  • Communicates territory and industry conditions including customer concerns, sales opportunities, and suggestions for improvements in design, pricing, or policy to necessary departments.
  • Prepares and analyzes sales data/metrics/statistics to make timely, informed decisions.
  • Maintains expense control, territory revenue and customer growth and retention.
  • Ensures compliance with financial, regulatory, environmental, and ethical policies and guidelines.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending relevant seminars, reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; joining professional associations and/or participating in local business community activities; encourages reps to participate as well.
  • Completes appropriate corporate training as related to the position and/or department.
  • Assures compliance by following Food and Drug Administration's Good Manufacturing Practices as well as other regulatory standards as required by the department.
  • Contributes to overall achievement by accomplishing related tasks and demonstrating characteristics that exemplify team building and support.

Qualifications  

Experience/Skills: 

  • 5 years successful B2Retail sales/sales management experience (or equivalent); 3 years in Natural and/or Nutraceuticals industry is preferred.
  • Ability to successfully coach and develop individuals in a competitive sales environment.
  • Assertive personality, strong interpersonal skills, high energy level, resilient character, and ability to manage change.
  • Strong strategic planning, problem solving, decision making, time management and organization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills required.
  • Competent with computer software and technology that supports sales objectives; CRM and other sales force automation tools a plus.
  • Understands financial reporting and able to analyze business needs and manage a budget.
  • Must be able to travel based on business needs (approximately 50%).
  • Valid driver's license and insurance. 

Education: 

  • Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent, is required.
