Produce Packing/Logistics Manager

Our expanding organic farm on West Maui is seeking an experienced operations manager for our product packing facility and logistics management.

Responsibilities:

• Lead efficient produce packing shed operations, including quality, efficiency, developing systems, tracking produce and developing grading standards.
• Foster productive work environment for employees by setting pace and providing training and performance feedback.
• Maintain compliance records as needed for organic certification, food safety etc.
• Manage delivery logistics, training and oversight.
• Oversee packing material inventory, procurement and efficiency improvements.
• Manage packing and delivery equipment maintenance, repairs and scheduling.
• Proactively develop solutions to problems, adjust protocols and retrain staff as needed.

Qualifications:

Minimum requirements:

• 2 years experience in commercial produce packing
• Delivery/driving experience
• Computer skills:  competence with Microsoft office suite
• Excellent communication, leadership and team work skills
• Attention to detail and quality
• Problems solving skills to identify need and implement a solution

Additional requirements:

• Drivers license
• Non-smoking
• Must pass drug test

Desirable Qualities:

• Dedicated to the development of statewide food self-sufficiency systems.
• Sustainability minded.
• Organic farming experience.
