Position Overview

Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, in conjunction with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) - Bureau of Forestry, is seeking an individual to coordinate the newly forming Pennsylvania Plant Conservation Alliance (PPCA). This alliance will be made up of numerous agencies, organizations, groups and individuals that have an interest in the conservation and stewardship of rare and endangered native plants.

  • The PPCA will facilitate numerous functions of the Alliance and provide assistance to its various members as needed.
  • The position will be based in the DCNR’s Bureau of Forestry in Harrisburg, PA.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should have a Master’s degree or equivalent experience in conservation related fields and have direct experience organizing and coordinating groups, volunteers and projects.
  • Strong communication skills including work in social media, meeting facilitation and professional networking are essential.
  • Familiarity with Pennsylvania’s flora, natural communities, and ecology is important.
