~ ecoPartners works with landowners & project developers to build successful forest carbon offset projects ~

ecoPartners specializes in the technical aspects of project design, planning and development: remote sensing, biometrics and accounting methodologies. 

  • In the U.S., ecoPartners is working with numerous landowners to implement sustainable forest management practices and to monetize the resulting carbon sequestration value. ecoPartners is actively developing projects in California, Mississippi, Louisiana, Minnesota and West Virginia. 
  • Internationally, ecoPartners has served as technical consultant for approximately half of all validated and verified REDD projects to date, accounting for over 6 million tonnes of verified reductions on 460,000 hectares. 

Position Overview 

ecoPartners is a global leader in ecosystem project development, is hiring a Manager of Development Services to join our start-up team located in Berkeley, California. Occasional domestic and international travel is required. Work is primarily in our Berkeley office with the opportunity to work flexible hours outside the office as desired. 

Responsibilities  

  • The Manager's primary responsibility is to ensure that timelines and deliverables are met for international development projects.
  • The Manager works closely with program staff and directors to ensure that client objectives are being achieved.
  • Work involves standards-based development of projects and technical documents in the global carbon market, and interfacing with clients, contractors, employees and directors to coordinate multiple project development activities. 

Specific tasks include:  

  • Oversight of project deliverables, timelines, and budgets; drafting technical project descriptions and reports; 
  • Developing and managing proposals for new international business opportunities;
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for clients;
  • Creating plans and strategies for long-term project implementation; and 
  • Facilitating communication between team members and subcontractors. 

Ideal Qualifications 

  • Are organized and attentive to detail. 
  • Are able to manage their time and others' time effectively. 
  • Are able to take direction and disseminate directions to others. 
  • Possess a Bachelor's degree or higher, Master's degree preferred. 
  • Have two or more years' experience working with the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) or the Climate, Community and Biodiversity (CCB) project design standard. 
  • Have interest in ecosystem conservation, natural resources, or environmental protection. 
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Are proficient in Excel and Word. 
  • Are comfortable with correspondence, email, and interpersonal interactions in a business environment. 
  • Preferably have some French or Spanish.
