Position Overview
RTC is currently seeking a Major Gifts Officer.

Job Duties
- Significantly increase philanthropic contributions from major donors including individuals, foundations and corporations;
- Create and implement a multi-year strategy for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding prospects and current donors;
- Team with program departments to prepare letters of inquiry, proposals, progress reports, and budgets; Implement recognition activities;
- Donor and prospect research; and
Plan and lead foundation, corporation and major donor cultivation and stewardship visits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required;
- Must possess superior writing and editing skills, with a minimum of 3 years experience in working with major donors, developing cultivation strategies, as well as, soliciting and closing $10,000+ gifts;
- Strong team player with the leadership skills to motivate others to be the same;
- Must have excellent organizational skills, strong interpersonal skills;
- Knowledge of major donor development and foundations is essential; and
- Knowledge of conservation, land use or transportation issues a plus.
