Keeping Washington Clean and Evergreen

  • Protecting Washington State's environment for current and future generations is what we do every day at Ecology.
  • In 2019, Governor Jay Inslee signed ESHB 1112 to transition away from the use of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs). HFCs are chemicals commonly used in air conditioning systems, in refrigeration, as propellants, and in the production of insulating foams.
  • HFCs are extremely potent greenhouse gases. Reducing HFCs in products substantially decreases public exposure to harmful pollutants and helps address climate change.

Position Overview

The Greenhouse Gas Reduction Specialist is part of the Climate Policy section of the Air Quality Program. This position helps to identify, prevent, and minimize air pollution, specializing in the implementation of the HFC program.

We are looking for creative, organized, self-starters with excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical information to non-technical audiences.

We invest in our employees to create and sustain a working environment that encourages creative leadership, effective resource management, teamwork, professionalism and accountability.
