Brightworks Sustainability is seeking an experienced, qualified Residential Green Building Project Manager/ Green Rater to join our team. The role will involve working on a variety of residential green building project certifications including the ability to perform field verifications.  

The employee filling this position will work directly with client project teams and internal teams. This position reports to a Brightworks Principal and will work closely with Brightworks Senior Project Managers and fellow Green Raters to manage projects.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage multiple green building certification projects including developing schedules, tracking milestones, and overseeing compliance of applicable third-party program guidelines (e.g., LEED for Homes, Green Point Rated)
  2. Perform site verification and complete all required checklists and forms for residential certifications.
  3. Interact with project team members during all project phases. Document and communicate discussions and resolutions with project team members to align deliverables with project scope.
  4. Review documentation and deliverables by others for completeness, clarity, and quality.
  5. Articulate building science principals and green building program requirements to project teams.
  6. Train contractors and trade professionals on high performance construction techniques.
  7. Follow company quality processes to deliver projects that exceed our client expectations resulting in long term relationships beneficial to the client and company.
  8. Support the senior staff in drafting proposals to help win projects and meet the company’s profitability criteria. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous rating experience as a LEED Homes Green Rater, Green Point Rater, and/or NGBS Green Verifier
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience, with a preference for 5 or more years of experience, with design and construction of residential buildings.
  • Advanced knowledge of building science and systems.
  • Evidence of careful attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, proactiveness, and strong time management.
  • Clear, diplomatic communication skills – written, spoken, and by phone.
  • Skilled at using Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Bluebeam, and online programs such as Google Sheets, Google Drive
  • Work experience, specialized training, or bachelor’s degree or higher in architecture.

Location:

This position may be filled in any of our Brightworks Sustainability Portland, Berkeley, or Los Angeles offices. Please indicate your desired office location in your cover letter.

NOTE: All Brightworks employees are currently working remotely until further notice. All onboarding and training will be conducted remotely.
