Description
LLELA is seeking a full-time environmental education and public outreach director to expand its
public programs and assist in the ongoing management of a 1900-acre wildlife management area in
Lewisville, Texas.
Duties:
Teach, plan, and prepare nature education programs for all ages; plan and
implement development and fundraising programs. Work with local schools, colleges, and interns;
engage local residents and public agencies in environmental projects and programs; perform
scientific fieldwork as directed; organize public involvement and volunteerism in construction and
restoration efforts.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in environmental science, education, or related field, and one
year experience in development or delivery of inquiry-based science education programs; or
equivalent combination of education, experience, and training; valid Texas driver's license with good
driving record. Indoor and outdoor work, but must be able to routinely spend many hours outdoors in
all weather.
Strong interpersonal, organizational and management skills; problem-solving skills;
strong science background; excellent teaching skills; proposal preparation and grant-writing
experience; good verbal and written communication skills highly preferred.
