San Antonio River Authority, created in 1937, is an active river authorities in the State of Texas. Its jurisdiction covers 3,658 square miles—all of Bexar, Wilson, Karnes and Goliad Counties.

A 12-member Board of Directors governs the San Antonio River Authority (River Authority). Policies established by the Board are executed by the management organization under the direction of a General Manager appointed by the Board. The River Authority's vision is to inspire actions for healthy creeks and rivers.

Position Overview

The San Antonio River Authority (River Authority) is seeking a highly qualified professional to join our team as the Director of Engineering & Environmental Sciences department. As a key member of the executive team, the new Director will bring exceptional leadership, innovative technical strategies, and excellent communication skills to the organization.

• Under the direction of the Assistant General Manager, this strategic leader overseas the day-to-day activities of several technical functions including Watershed Engineering, Environmental Services, and Real Estate Services.
• The ideal candidate will be driven and inspired to carry out the implementation of regional, multi-faceted programs to ensure our vital natural resources are protected in a growing region, and preserve the quality of life for area residents, has a strong understanding of policies, programs, and practices affecting water resource management in Texas, and possesses 8-years of progressively responsible leadership for variable direction and planning, coupled with a graduate degree in related technical fields.

Compensation

• Minimum salary range is $147,559.14 (DOE) plus outstanding fringe benefits which includes excellent health/vision/dental insurance packages, 401a/457b retirement program, 12 vacations days per year, 11 paid holidays per year, etc.
