Position Overview

Our company is searching for an experienced Construction Project Manager - Renewable Energy/Heavy Civil to join our team. The Construction Project Manager - Renewable Energy/Heavy Civil should have a deep and broad base of knowledge and experience regarding development, design, and construction of renewable generation facilities, specifically focusing on the heavy civil construction side of wind or solar generation.

The Construction Project Manager- Renewable Energy/Heavy Civil serves as the single point of responsibility for accomplishing project objectives and ensuring that established practices, procedures, and company goals are implemented in the key areas of safety, quality, profitability, and client satisfaction. Construction Project Manager- Renewable Energy/Heavy Civil lead the project team through all phases of the project from acquisition through pre-construction, execution, and close-out. Competency in the areas of leadership, communication, planning, and scope management are key to project success.

Responsibilities

Construction Project Manager- Renewable Energy/Heavy Civil Essential Duties:

  • Demonstrable experience in delivering power generation projects (Wind or Solar), own the project budget, cost, forecast, and schedule
  • Assure project abides by all environmental safety awareness and compliance
  • Project Risk Management: Conduct risk management planning, identification, analysis, response planning, and controlling risk on project
    Support and further the company culture, values, Key Results and quality management
  • Document and communicate project progress, performance, and issues to all stakeholders
  • Provide day to day direction and oversight of project resources (staff, equipment, subcontractors) and materials
  • Successfully integrate resources, activities, and deliverables as outlined in the Project Execution Plan
  • Provide successful management of all contract documents, risks and changes throughout the project
  • Project Integration Management: Manage the processes and activities needed to identify, define, combine, unify, and coordinate the various processes including start-up and commence operation of multiple renewable energy projects (Wind or Solar)
  • Project Scope management: Responsible for the processes required to ensure that the project includes all the work required, and only the work required, to complete the project successfully
  • Project Time Management: track and monitor the processes required to manage the timely completion of the project
  • Project cost management, quality management, Human Resource management

Project Communications Management:

  • Project Procurement Management: purchase or acquire products, services, or results needed from outside the project team. Processes in this area include Procurement Planning, Solicitation Planning, Solicitation, Source Selection, Contract Administration, and Contract Closeout
  • Project Stakeholder Management: identify all people or organizations impacted by the project, analyzing stakeholder expectations and impact on the project, and developing appropriate management strategies for effectively engaging stakeholders in project decisions and execution 

Qualifications

Basic qualifications for this position:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Engineering required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with a broad and deep understanding of renewable generation, specifically wind or solar
  • Ability to work with existing and new clients to identify new projects, articulate to the clients our ability to perform those projects, and translate that into the sale of consulting services, specifically in the renewable energy (Wind or Solar)
  • Experience with development, design, and construction of renewable energy (wind or solar) generation projects
  • Able to successfully clear our pre-employment screening
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and presentation skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines and to be effective in on-site work environments
    Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
