Position Overview

CleanChoice Energy seeks a detail-oriented and collaborative candidate for our Compliance Manager. The ideal candidate for this position is passionate about renewable energy and has demonstrated the ability to perform risk assessments and monitoring, including mapping in a risk and control framework across multiple departments, including Marketing, Sales, and Customer Care. This position reports to the Vice President, Regulatory, and Compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with legal and regulatory to understand compliance obligations across the company; map compliance obligations in a risk and controls framework.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of internal compliance procedures, analysis, planning, and implementation of required changes. Support activities related to compliance assurance, internal compliance reviews and internal audits, with particular emphasis on sales and marketing.
  • Function as a project manager across all departments when changes in laws, regulations, or other guidance requires updating existing business processes.
  • Routinely provide strategic advice to and collaborate with multiple departments to improve internal processes.
  • Effectively partner with outside legal counsel as needed to leverage subject matter expertise and manage state-specific compliance issues..
  • Assist various departments in managing appropriate evidence of compliance. Periodically review documentation and evidence to assure accuracy and completeness. Review existing and create new procedures and processes with controls to ensure compliance performance.
  • Collaborate with legal and regulatory to understand changing laws and regulations; with a strong interest in understanding how regulatory and legal changes impact our business.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three (3) years of compliance or business analyst experience.
  • Experience in renewable energy or retail electricity markets is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform risk assessments and monitoring, including mapping in a risk and control framework.
  • Excellent business judgment, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with team members and business partners; including mitigation of conflict between competing for business interests.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passionate about the environment and renewable energy.
