About This Role

This is for a full-time, Environmental Sustainability/Administrative Analyst II position. This is a limited-period assignment (currently funded through June 30, 2018), but there's potential for renewal on a year-to-year basis with City Council approval.

You will join a dynamic and professional work environment, supporting the City of Mountain View’s Environmental Sustainability program within the Community Development Department. 

This position will fully manage projects and consultants, perform research and technical analysis, write reports, conduct community outreach, and work closely with other city staff. We are looking for a highly motivated and detail oriented individual to join our team! What You Bring

  • Required: 2 years of full-time administrative and analytical experience equivalent to the position of Administrative Analyst I with the City of Mountain View
  • Required: A bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, economics, or a related field

Highly Desirable:

  • A master's degree in environmental sustainability or related field;
  • Experience in environmental sustainability, including hands-on experience with project management, technical analysis, and outreach on environmental sustainability projects; and
  • Experience implementing a marketing/outreach campaign for residents, businesses, and/or employees, including website management and social media content generation

What You’ll Do

  • Implement actions in Environmental Sustainability Action Plan 3, including a community solar PV ordinance and a higher municipal green building standard, and greenhouse gas analysis/projections
  • Assist with implementing an over-arching sustainability outreach campaign focused on encouraging behavior change and property upgrades among residents, businesses/developers, and municipal employees
  • Conduct research and develop a plan for installing additional EV chargers in Mountain View
  • Support municipal building energy efficiency and renewable energy efforts, including (1) managing a project to install additional solar PV, (2) investigating the use of solar hot water, (3) developing a sustainability revolving loan fund program, and (4) identifying and implementing an energy/GHG reporting platform
  • Work with City staff to gather data, track metrics, and report on the City’s sustainability progress
  • Conduct outreach for the Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE) community choice energy program
  • Re-engage and lead the City Green Team (time permitting)
  • Apply for awards and grants
