Position Overview

The sPower team is looking for an innovative and motivated individual to lead NERC CIP compliance efforts for sPower’s rapidly growing renewable energy portfolio. The CIP Compliance Manager provides the opportunity to support one of the largest renewable energy portfolios in the U.S. while playing a pivotal role in ensuring that sPower builds, operates and maintains the portfolio to standards that exceed industry best-practice.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and have the ability to tackle multidisciplinary challenges in coordination with various sPower teams and third-parties. Responsibilities

  • Lead sPower’s CIP compliance efforts throughout the project lifecycle from development through operations and maintenance
  • Maintain and update CIP components of sPower’s Internal Compliance Program to support changing compliance requirements, company growth and evolving business needs
  • Serve as a liaison between the Compliance team and Construction, Development, Operations Technology, O&M and Legal teams to ensure compliance obligations are met
  • Drive the creation and improvement of internal documentation and evidence collection processes
  • Act as sPower’s CIP compliance expert, providing training and outreach throughout the organization
  • Manage all communications with compliance enforcement agencies
  • Lead sPower through audits, mock audits and information requests while relying on internal and third-party support
  • Coordinate with third-party compliance Subject Matter Experts to ensure sPower stays at the forefront of evolving compliance obligations
  • Build a CIP compliance team as necessary to support a growing portfolio

Qualifications

  • Highly motivated, self-starter willing to take on new challenges
  • Exceptional attention to detail with commitment to fostering a culture of compliance
  • Prior GO/GOP NERC CIP compliance experience (low and medium impact) including program development and implementation, compliance monitoring, training, and audit support
  • Willingness to learn on the job and identify growth areas without direction
  • Strong written communications skills with procedure writing experience
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to effectively communicate complex requirements
  • Ability to thrive within a small agile team
