Description

~ The Chippewa Watershed Conservancy (CWC) began in 1994 and was accredited by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission in 2012 and whose mission is to protect important habitats of 5 counties in central Michigan (a 3,000 sq. mi. service area). ~

The CWC has over 4,973 acres of permanently protected land that consists of 22 preserves and 35 easements. The CWC is a volunteer driven organization with an active calendar of events and programs.

Position Overview

The CWC Board of Directors is searching for a talented leader to move the organization forward and to grow upon the amazing accomplishments of the CWC by furthering its mission to protect and restore Central Michigan’s land, water, and wildlife resources to improve the quality of life for all, and assist the organization move toward its vision of seeing a world where communities are enriched by being connected to land, water, and wildlife resources. We are looking for a leader who also shares our values of Land Protection, Water Quality, Wildlife Habitat, Access to Nature, Environmental Education, High Visibility and Broad Support, and Sustainable Management.

We are looking for an Executive Director who can demonstrate administrative abilities and a passion for protecting habitat, and who can demonstrate the ability to energetically engage the community, foster strategic partnerships, manage land stewardship and broaden support for our diverse conservation efforts.

Compensation

  • This position is full time and is to begin in September or earlier.
  • This posting will remain open until the position is filled. Salary range is $35,000 - $50,000 based on experience with limited benefits.
