Started in 1990 with just $2,000 in working capital, Logan Simpson now earns more than $15 million in annual revenues. We’ve expanded from a small shop in Arizona to seven offices throughout the West. We are proud to work with incredible clients to provide landscape architecture design, environmental planning, cultural resources, biological resources, Clean Water Act permitting, and community planning services. Our projects range throughout the West, with some as far away as Alaska and Florida.

Position Overview

Logan Simpson, a growing multi-discipline, environmental planning and design firm, with offices in multiple states, currently seeks an entry-level Environmental Planner for our Tempe, Arizona office. This position would have an emphasis in environmental planning, compliance, and permitting for a variety of projects and clients in the areas of energy, utilities development, and transportation.

Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) related documentation and technical studies.

Assisting with public involvement, including:

  • Scheduling and coordination with agencies.
  • Data gathering/research.
  • Administrative record filing, and assisting project managers in completing and implementing a variety of other project-related tasks.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Biology, Anthropology, Ecology, Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Studies or closely related field.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint – Microsoft Project is also preferred.
  • A positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and part of a multi-disciplinary team.
