~ The Forest County Potawatomi (FCP) have lived in Forest County, Wisconsin, since the late 1800s. Around 1880, groups settled in areas near Blackwell and Wabeno and have lived in that area since, as well as in the Carter and Crandon (or Stone Lake) areas. ~

Today, life on the reservation is very different than it was for the elders. They have done much for the younger generation, and it is because of the elders that the younger generations are who they are today.

By pursuing a diverse set of business models, the Forest County Potawatomi of today are the largest employer in Forest County. With revenues from various tribal enterprises, the Potawatomi have invested in the health, wellness, education, environment and future of its people.

The FCP have also worked hard to preserve its culture and honor its past. The Cultural Center, Library and Museum provide an important link to the past and serves to facilitate important ceremonies.

Position Overview

The Energy Manager is based in Crandon, WI, who will be responsible for leading the Forest County Potawatomi Community’s efforts to achieve its goal of becoming 100% energy independent through both energy efficiency and renewable energy generation.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and track energy usage of all Forest County Potawatomi Community buildings and facilities.
  • Monitor and track energy generation of all Forest County Potawatomi Community renewable energy generation facilities.
  • Identifies, plans, develops and leads the implementation of projects to increase energy efficiency for both existing and newly constructed buildings and facilities.
  • Identify and lead the implementation of infrastructure, reliability, and renewable energy generation projects.
  • Identify and pursue grant-funding opportunities to support energy projects.
  • Develop polices to reduce energy usage and increase energy efficiency.
  • Implement Energy Management Plans and audits.
  • Conduct education and outreach activities related to energy projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Planning, Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management of related field.
  • 2 years’ experience in energy auditing and/or renewable energy project development and management.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Certification as a Professional Energy Manager (PEM) or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) preferred.
  • Knowledge of building systems, HVAC, energy efficiency technologies, green building and high performance design preferred.
  • Ability to utilize energy modeling applications and other simulation techniques to predict benefits from energy efficiency and green building projects preferred.
  • Working knowledge of utilities preferred.
  • Understanding of energy system designs preferred.

Compensation

  • $78,000.00 to $88,000.00 /year.
