Position Overview

Lehigh Hanson is seeking a qualified Environmental Professional. The position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all Federal, State, and Local environmental needs for a cement manufacturing facility. If you feel that you have the ability to effectively handle the needs of a cement facility while also working with the corporate level of our organization then this may be the position to challenge and take you to the next step in your career. This position will report directly to the Plant Manager.

The position will reside in Speed, IN.

Responsibilities

• Ensures compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, and with company policies and procedures.
• Reporting for environmental; for compliance purposes under Title V, Federal, State, Local Environmental Regulations and permits.
• Ensure all information, readings, testing, and observations, are recorded or conducted as required by environmental regulations and permit conditions.
• Prepare air, water and waste renewal and permit applications for all plant activities.
• Maintain and update the Plant’s Source Reduction Strategy for solid and residual waste generated at the plant.
• Coordinate plant’s efforts to secure permits and permission to utilize alternative non-hazardous raw materials, industrial water and alternative non-hazardous fuels.
• Manage the implementation and ongoing activities of the Plant’s Environmental Management Information System.
• Train and mentor plant personnel on all relevant environmental guidelines and practices.

Qualifications

• 10 Years of environmental experience in the cement industry.
• Working knowledge of MSHA.
• Working knowledge of the cement manufacturing industry.
• Strong communication skills to interact with multiple levels of the organization.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Federal, State, and Local requirements.
• Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering or related field.
• External candidates must be able to work in the USA without sponsorship.
