Position Overview

Trinity Solar, the Northeast largest privately-owned solar integrator, is seeking a Solar Crew Lead to manage a small crew on solar installation projects for our office located in Ronkonkoma, NY. The Solar Crew Lead will be responsible for leading a particular team in the installations of grid-tied solar PV systems. The Solar Crew Lead will also communicate job status data to management and ensure the completion of installation for all assigned solar arrays/systems. Candidates for the Solar Crew Lead position will be reliable, able to lead others and will value quality work.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and technical expertise for the PV installation crew
  • Communicate the necessary job status information to the project management team to assure the successful operation of complete and working systems
  • Communicate the necessary job status information to the customer
  • Lead efforts for safe working practices for the installation team
  • Pull inventory for each installation job
  • Mechanical/structural mounting of racking, modules, and electrical equipment
  • Electrical wiring of solar array/system (AC and DC)
  • Document completion of each installation with pictures and job closeout checklists
  • Cleanup of job site
  • Attend mandatory training sessions on safety, new products, and installation best practices
  • Additional duties required as needed

Qualifications

  • Must be self-motivated, reliable, and take pride in your work and craftsmanship
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Able to maintain a high level of professionalism and attention to detail
  • Able to work in various positions including, but not limited to stooping, standing, bending forward, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time
  • Able to wear protective equipment such as harnesses, hard hats, work boots, and protective eyewear

Required Experience:

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and work comfortably on a roof daily
  • Must have a full range of mobility in the upper and lower body
  • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check, driving record check, and drug screening
  • 1+ year(s) of solar installation experience preferred
